Child abuse is categorized as:
Physical Abuse: Intentional infliction of injury on a person < 18 years old or 21 years if mentally disabled.
Sexual Abuse: Action whereby an adult or older child engages in sexual activity with a minor or exploits a minor for the purpose of sexual gratification.
Neglect: The physical, mental or emotional wellbeing of a child is endangered as a result of the caregiver failing to provide basic necessities or exposes a child to unsafe or inappropriate conditions or behaviors.
