Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)



  • Primary injury
    • Diffuse Injury
      • Concussions
      • Diffuse Axonal Injury
    • Localized Injury
      • Contusion
      • Intracranial hemorrhage (epidural / extradural, subdural, subarachnoid, intracerebral)
  • Secondary injury
    • Injury to the brain from:
      • Cerebral edema, ↑ intracranial pressure.
      • Hypoxia
      • Hypotension
      • Important to prevent hypoxia and hypotension to minimize secondary injuries.
