Correlations
By using an orderly approach the physician is able to correlate bedside observations and laboratory findings with pathophysiology and the basic elements of cardiac pathology, as shown in the following specimens.

Coarctation of the Aorta
This is a pathology specimen of a discrete coarctation of the aorta. The pulmonary trunk, the ascending aorta, innominate artery, left common carotid artery, left subclavian artery, coarctation site and ductus ligamentum, i.e., remnants of the ductus arteriosus are labeled.
