Apex auscultation
Let us listen to our patient's auscultation at the apex. [Sounds]

Auscultation at the apex in our patient demonstrated a single S1 followed by an ejection sound and a mid frequency, short, systolic, diamond shape murmur. Note that the ejection sound does not vary in intensity with respiration, S2 is single and of normal intensity.

This is a graphic illustration of the acoustic events at the apex in our patient. Note that the ejection sound is well heard. The systolic murmur is less intense and the diastolic murmur is not audible.
