Patients with supravalvular aortic stenosis often have associated abnormalities, including characteristic facial features, mental retardation and pulmonary vascular obstructions.

Due to preferential blood flow to the right-sided vessels, the systolic blood pressure and the intensity of the murmur may be greater on that side.

There is usually no ejection sound, as the valve is not involved.
