Auscultation is, of course, carried out in all of the classic four acoustic areas. In our case, the most information is found at the upper left sternal edge and at the apex. Let us, therefore, begin by listening at the upper left sternal edge. I'm going to use firm pressure on the diaphragm and let's everyone watch breathing, particularly, to evaluate the second heart sound. [Cut-away]
