Treatment

Because of his father’s heart attack at age fifty, the patient was advised to periodically check his coronary risk factors including his blood pressure, glucose, and lipids. A health maintenance program was also outlined including a prudent diet, avoiding excess calories and fats and regular aerobic exercise. He was also advised not to take up smoking in the future. Because of the benign nature of his diagnosis and the patient’s response to conservative therapy, no further cardiac or orthopedic procedures are indicated.
