Program Progress:

Go to Harvey's bedside, select condition 13, and evaluate our patient's:Apical Impulse Contour

Having evaluated the location and size of our patient’s precordial movement, we will now evaluate contour. Right here, fifth intercostal space, mid-clavidular line, we use the cotton swab, so that we can share the movement I feel. And when you use the cotton swab, you clearly can see the type of impulse. And then, to get a timing device, all you have to do is put another swab on the carotid vessel, because that will tell us when systole occurs. Let us observe this together.
